Tasting notes:
The Usana Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium to full bodied wine. It has a rich, ruby coloured, is soft on the palate and displays typical hints of dark berries, spice and a touch of vanilla. It is a beautifully balanced wine. The wine is drinking superbly at the moment but can still mature for another 3-5years.
Vinification:
Our grapes came from Stellenbosch. All the vineyards were trellised. All grapes are harvested by hand in individual bins in optimal conditions to ensure true quality from beginning to end. The wine spent about 13 months in French oak barrels. All the barrels were 225L. There was a total of 20% new oak used and the remainder comprised of 2nd, 3rd and 4th fill barrels.
